THE ZOO / animation project

PROJECT AND GOAL
The Zoo is an ambitious animated project I had in mind for years. I’ve always wanted to tell the story of the evolution of our solar system and beyond in a mythological form with updated cosmologist and astronomical facts. So no spoiler here, the ending will be fatefully and faithfully as happy as a dark cold pit. Metaphors are used to personify the protagonists and the places in the film; the Solar System becomes an empire, the Sun its emperor and the planets are the main actors gravitating and plotting for or against their ruler depending on their gravitational position.

Beyond that rough idea, the story would begin with the collision of a large asteroid that would annihilate most of life existing on Earth (did i mention it was also a love story?…). Despite its deadly impact, the boulder brings a new kind of material that has an enormous energy potential and a new civilization arises from it. The animation will center on the struggle of a couple who defies the given rules of this emerging unfair society (and no, that kind of story has never been told…oh well, maybe once or twice…). My goal is to come with a finish short film and its original music score for Fall 2015 to present it to different animation festivals in Europe and abroad. I am totally dedicated to it and will personally spend a lot of money and time to achieve it… BUT an extra help would be more than welcomed. With that in mind, I have set a 10’000 CHF funding goal for this project and will give regular updates on its development.
